'Bread Winners' is the result of a photographic research project on migrant workers following an exchange programme offered by the International Photography Research Network (IPRN) in Sunderland. This project was developed from December 2006 to June 2007 and included a 2-month stay in Singapore, hosted by the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA). Being given freedom to do what I wanted I explored the importance of the migrant workers in the economy and landscape of Singapore. This project was used as part of the IPRN archive and a small story of the work in progress was published Feb-March (2007) in the magazine ‘Asian Photography'.
